BroadwayWorld Award Winner as Best Director for MTC’s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Connecticut Critics’ Circle Best Director winner for MTC’s Ragtime, and recipient of the Tom Killen Award for Outstanding Contribution to Connecticut Professional Theatre. As a result of this, he is forced to take a job inside of a top restaurant in New York as a Reservationist. He has directed over 100 MTC Equity MainStage productions including Next to Normal, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, Cabaret, Little Shop of Horrors, Evita, Doubt, Master Class, Gypsy, (all Connecticut Critics’ Circle Award Nominations/Winners), and It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, (Moss Hart Award Winner). Fully Committed play is based around the life of Sam an actor that keeps having trouble getting roles that he auditions for. Selected regional productions: The Fantasticks, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Babes in Toyland, A Christmas Carol and Baby with such stars as Joan Rivers, James Naughton, and Johnny Mathis. This devastatingly funny one act follows a day in the life of Sam Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan’s number-one restaurant. Matt is a native of Monroe, CT and holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music.

His other favorite credits include regional productions of The Little Mermaid (Scuttle), Rock of Ages (Franz), and The Rocky Horror Show (Riff Raff), as well as appearing in the recently released film, Still Waiting in the Wings. In NYC, Matt went on for Young Max in How the Grinch Stole Christmas! at Madison Square Garden and originated Sky in Kris Kringle - the Musical at Town Hall, appearing on the original cast recordings of both shows. He is currently on hiatus from the Broadway National Tour of WICKED, where he understudies the role of Boq. Broadway performers recall their days of being low thespian on the food chain. He has previously appeared here in The 39 Steps, End of the Rainbow, and The SantaLand Diaries, a role he also performed with Virginia Stage Company.
